Erik & Juliën van Loo

Erik was born in South Limburg, where he grew up as the son of a butcher in the village of Mechelen. After gaining experience at home and abroad, Erik started his own restaurant in Wijk bij Duurstede, ‘Restaurant Duurstede’, where he earned his first Michelin star. With a magnificent career, he has been a Patron Cuisinier for 17 years and has owned Restaurant Parkheuvel, awarded two Michelin stars, since 2006.

His son Juliën is his right hand in the kitchen and has been by his side for several years now. Juliën represents a young generation of successful chefs who are completely dedicated to their work. He aims to constantly further develop his skills. With an eye for the latest trends in gastronomy, he brings together classic and modern elements. Every season, father and son create a signature menu with the most beautiful and unique products of that moment.

Together, Erik & Juliën will host a Chef’s Table session at BITE 2024!
