Jacques Pourcel

Jacques Pourcel grew up in Agde (Hérault) alongside his twin brother, Laurent Pourcel. From a young age, they were both interested in cooking and at the age of 24, they opened their first restaurant, Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, which eventually became a three Michelin-starred establishment.

After the success of this restaurant, it was time to expand internationally. The expansions began in Tokyo with the restaurant Sens & Saveurs. Soon after, they continued with the opening of several other restaurants: D’Sens in Bangkok, Maison Pourcel in Shanghai, and Café Français in Sri Lanka. However, their desire for entrepreneurship and innovation extends beyond the restaurants themselves. They now own a cooking school, and a lounge bar, and have authored multiple cookbooks.

Jacques’s cooking style is inspired by the south of France, and he enjoys working with contrasts such as warm & cold, soft & crispy, and sweet & salty. Quality and simplicity are central to his kitchen, and he exclusively works with locally sourced high-quality ingredients.
