Thijs Meliefste

After his first introduction to a gourmet restaurant in Yerseke, Thijs Meliefste (1987) gained experience at various European Michelin-starred establishments, including Maaemo*** in Oslo and The Fat Duck*** in London, at the time ranked third in the world. The gesture* & Katseveer*. In 2015, he returned to Zeeland where, as patron-cuisinier of restaurant Meliefste at the marina of Wolphaartsdijk, he made a strong impression. Gault&Millau awarded him the prestigious title of Young Top Chef of the Year 2020, and in 2021 he received a Michelin star.

He ranks 13th in the Lekker Top 100 of the Netherlands, and the Gault & Millau guide recently rated him with a score of 17.5/20 points, placing him among the best restaurants in the Netherlands.
